new version, new name! | Devlog #1

Hi there!

A short while ago I spent two days developing this microgod prototype, and to tell you the truth, I'm really proud of it.

During the game jam, in addition to providing myself with some fun, I also got some really positive feedback that inspired me to keep working on the game and add additional features.

"Oh, I'm not the only one who liked this kind of game," was my initial thought. "Maybe I should work on it a bit more."

Since the game jam ended, I've been documenting everything on a document, including my inspirations and desired game mechanics. Most importantly, though, I've been attempting to figure out what makes this game truly enjoyable, and I believe it's the sense of control and freedom over this tiny realm that appears when we launch the game.

Do you wish to have friendly relations with this civilzation? So either play "normally" and help them grow, gather resources by assigning your humans to various roles and building your civilization, or play the exact opposite and make their lives as miserable as possible by releasing dogs that will not stop chasing "Edgar" (one of your humans) until he jumps off the edge thinking that he is saving his life.
Or by just throwing meteorites on them.

And I think that's really what gave the game its charm, which is why I decided to improve it, to make a new version, more complete, more fun and with many more possibilities, to make it a real game

I decided to take the code from scratch and redevelop everything, from the characters to the interactions, right down to the player's powers and the environment

At present, the version I'm working on is almost at the same level as the previous one, with a much more polished look.

Animations have been added, new textures have been introduced and I've added a whole new way of interacting with humans!

I invite you to come and chat with me on the Discord group, if you're interested in testing the game in advance or making suggestions for improvements!

Thanks again for taking the time to read me, and see you soon for another dev log!
