µRealms Devlog #3: A Focused Camera and Pondering the Game Loop

Greetings, future fellow realm-builders!
It's time for another tiny update on the development of µ(Micro)Realms, my captivating 2D city builder/god simulator. In this devlog, I'll be highlighting a couple of exciting new additions that are sure to enhance your realm-building experience.

Navigating Your Realm with Ease

First and foremost, I'm thrilled to announce the addition of a game camera that allows you to explore your realm with greater ease. Using the mouse wheel, you can now pan across the horizontal axis, giving you a better view of your ever-expanding domain. And with the ability to zoom in and out, you can get up close and personal with your burgeoning civilization or take a step back to admire the grand scale of your realm.

Pondering the Game Loop

As a solo developer, I've been taking the time to carefully consider the game loop – the core mechanics that will keep you, the player, engaged and entertained. It's a delicate balance, but I'm determined to create a gameplay experience that is both intuitive and captivating.Over the next few days, I'll be diving deeper into the game loop, exploring ways to make it truly fun and rewarding. After all, the heart of Micro Realms lies in the joy of building, managing, and shaping your own unique realm, and I'm committed to ensuring that every moment spent in this world is a delight.

Stay tuned, realm-builders, as I continue to refine and enhance the Micro Realms experience.
With your support and feedback, I'm confident that we can create something truly special, so I invite you to join the Discord for this :

Until next time, may your camera angles be ever in your favor!
